Greening the District
Massachusetts has an opportunity to follow the lead of California and Cambridge and become known for its commitment to "green" policies. This not only makes sense for the quality of our lives and our children’s lives but for our economy. Focus on renewable fuel alternatives and conversion to clean energy technology will bring job expansion throughout the District.
As your state senator, I would:
- Support the development of the Urban Ring and the expansion of clean-running bus lines throughout the district
- Encourage "smart growth" development and the use of public transportation and bicycle lanes
- Support the extension of the Green Line and the Red-Blue Connector
- Encourage the expansion of all energy-saving programs and incentives that are locally based
- Oppose the expansion of the LNG plant outside Chelsea
