About Tim
Tim Flaherty, a lifelong Cambridge resident, served for eight years as a Norfolk County Assistant District Attorney, under now-Congressman William Delahunt. He rose rapidly through the ranks, becoming one of the youngest ADAs to prosecute major felonies, including murder and other violent crimes. During his tenure, Tim directed both the Narcotics and the Career Criminals Units. He has successfully tried hundreds of cases before juries.
Tim was inspired to public service by his father, the former Speaker of the House, and his mother, a registered nurse. After attending Cambridge Public Schools, he graduated from Boston College High, Boston College and Boston College Law School, where he distinguished himself as Best Oral Advocate in the National Mock Trial Competition. Today, Tim runs a successful private law practice and teaches at Boston College as an adjunct professor of law. He is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Boston Bar Association, and the Massachusetts Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He has been a contributing lecturer and author for Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education, and has guest lectured at Harvard Law School and Northeastern University.
